Position Summary

The Instructor Maintenance delivers training to JetBlue Airways’ Technical Operations crewmembers and business partners and supports JetBlue University (JBU) and Technical Operations with their expertise.

Essential Responsibilities

Facilitate classroom and on the job training (OJT)

Demonstrate ideal professional Technician behavior at all times

Maintain expertise in Aircraft Systems, Tech Ops policies, procedures, and practices, and pertinent Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations

Acts as Subject Matter Expert to develop, evaluate, revise and enhance Technical Operations training curricula and other documentation for JetBlue University

Represent JetBlue at industry events

Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

· High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma

· Valid FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings

· Five (5) years of diversified experience in aircraft maintenance

· Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge

· Ability to start, run, and taxi aircraft, drive tugs, trucks, lift trucks, snorkel lift, boom lift and tractor and/or other vehicles

· Ability to communication effectively; in both oral and written communication

· Ability to crawl, bend, kneel, climb, and stoop frequently in confined spaces

· Ability to work under pressure in a team environment

· Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards and/or airport authority requirements

· Ability to remain alert to moving vehicles and aircraft

· Available for occasional overnight travel (40%)

· Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States to any location in which JetBlue and/or our business partner operates and/or plans to operate

· Must pass a pre-employment drug test

· Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

· Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree

· Three (3) years of A320/A220 maintenance experience

· Three (3) years of Instructor experience

· Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite

· Strong organizational skills

· Excellent communicator and interpersonal skills

· Attention to detail

· Ability to work in a team environment

Crewmember Expectations:

· Regular attendance and punctuality

· Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

· Able to maintain a professional appearance

· When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

· Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

· Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

· Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy, and behavioral standards

· Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) and Safety Action Report (SAR))

· Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls

· Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Equipment:

· Computer and other office equipment

· Obtain tools listed on the Minimum Tool List within thirty (30) days of employment

· Issued reflective safety vest, ear protection, and other PPE as necessary

· Ability to use handheld two way radios, headsets and/or phone

Work Environment:

· Live maintenance environment

· Traditional office environment

· Work may be outdoors with seasonal weather

· Irregular shift work, training operations are twenty four (24) hours per day and seven (7) days per week

· Occasional temporary work assignments at remote stations

· Ability to work in elevated areas

Physical Effort

· Position requires extremely strenuous physical work involving objects in excess of seventy (70) to one hundred (100) pounds. (Very Heavy)

Compensation:

· The base pay range for this position is between $87,360 and $138,902. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
