Position Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
With limited guidance in a team environment, responsible for various semi-complex inspection requirements.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date acceptance and rejection records and/or certifications systems as required by the applicable specifications.
- Determine acceptance or rejection after inspection and/or calibration of parts. Identify defective conditions and test failures and prepare all appropriate documentation and/or calibration history.
- Review and assess accuracy of maintenance records as objective evidence of work performed.
Inspection:
- Perform inspection on detailed machined parts using a wide variety of measuring and test equipment to determine acceptability or rejections of parts and/or parts finish.
- Interpret specifications, charts and component maintenance manuals. Use mathematics to convert blueprint dimensions and tolerances. Work within the guidelines of drawings, schematics, blueprints, route sheets, travelers, quality directives, technical engineering specifications, customers requirements and military standards and/or calibrations procedures.
- Observe and perform audits of a moderate scope or complexity on assembly and test, machining and other functions for compliance to procedures.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- HS diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years’ experience in Inspection within manufacturing
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, manufacturers specifications and internal drawings and procedures.
- Ability to use and/or calibrate mechanical, hydraulic and electrical instruments/gages.
- Possess working knowledge of machine shop mathematics.
- Knowledge of applicable military standards may be required.
- May be required to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
