Position Summary:
Performs receiving or in-process inspection of precision parts, materials and assemblies following established inspection requirements and procedures. Inspects for conformance to drawings and specifications.

- Inspects a wide variety of precision machine parts for size, length, finish, hardness, concentricity, plating thickness and angles as my be checked by use of inspection hand tools, comparators, check fixtures or 3-axis coordinate measuring machine.
- Inspects machined parts for proper material, correctness of certification covering such processes as heat treat, brazing, plating, painting, etc.
- Inspects raw, partly processed and finished parts and materials, accessories and assemblies received from suppliers.
- Makes visual, dimensional and operational checks or material tests as required.
- Performs first article inspection on detail parts/assemblies.
- Does the routine type of surface plate work and/or layouts requiring a nominal amount of computations.
- Prepares and maintains required inspection reports and records.
- Performs system and product audits.
- Assists in the activities of other inspectors as directed.
- Performs related work requiring equal or lesser skill.
- Organize and administer all aspects of the position.
- Expected to be at work every day and arrive at work at the assigned time for the assigned number of hours.

- Read and interpret part and assembly drawings and specifications. Thorough knowledge of inspection practices and procedures applicable to parts, assemblies and materials. Skillfully use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments. General knowledge of shop operation and processes.

Education, Experiences, Certificates/Licenses and/or Registrations:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the outlined experience level, education, training, minimum years of experience, product or industry knowledge plus any certifications in order to be considered.
- High school diploma or GED,
- Or knowledge of shop mathematics and 5 + years’ experience in aerospace Quality Assurance.
- Or a combination of the above, and 5 + years’ experience in aerospace Quality Assurance.
Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods and stand to perform work. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee must be able to lift, push, pull or move up to fifty (50) pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
