Job Title: Fuel Cell Mechanic
Job Type: Full time; Consultant (12 Months)
Location: San Antonio, TX
Schedule: All submitted candidates should be available to work variable shifts based on business need, 1st and 2nd shift
Pay Rate: $35.00-$40 per hour

Job Description

  • Removal and reinstallation of structural brackets, supports, vents, tubes, and component assemblies in aircraft fuel tanks.

  • Performs dry capacity checks

  • FOD free inspections prior to tank closure, fuel tank leak repairs/leaks checks, and drain/air purge fuel tanks.

  • Required to perform fuel system maintenance & pressurization checks as required

  • Required to perform Resistance Measurement and Seal installations to support fuel systems

  • Performs fuel tank maintenance safety tasks including clearing the aircraft when applying electrical power, using grounding safety devices, performing lock-out/tag-out, and performing Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) tests.

  • Defuels and refuels aircraft as required.

  • Applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures’ manuals.

  • Read and follow the provided technical data, blueprints, engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing specifications in the maintenance processes.

  • Provides troubleshooting knowledge, inspection, repair, modification, replacement of aircraft fuel components and systems and follow-on operational checks.

  • The mechanic will be required to access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests.

  • Perform efforts associated with flight controls installation, removal and rigging. Landing gear ops check, door rigging and servicing of aircraft



Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience working as a fuel tank aircraft mechanic

  • 2+ years’ experience reading schematics, technical data and work instructions

  • Ability to fit and work inside fuel cells

  • Respirator use required

  • Ability to work rotating shifts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Depot Level/General maintenance procedures

  • Experience reading and follow provided technical data, blueprints, engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, and manufacturing specifications in the maintenance processes

  • Familiar with performing lock-out/tag-out, and performing Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) tests



Pay Details: $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
