THE WORK
As an Electronic / Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will provide recommendations and support for our Hardware Engineering team in the areas of assembly, test, troubleshoot and rework for products that are in development and products that have been deployed. You will serve as an individual contributor to a larger cross-functional Operations team and will execute actions per defined processes, policies, tools, and schedules to meet program requirements. Your role involves ensuring a value-driven approach to program product delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Successful candidate must be able to perform the following:
~ Perform a series of steps in the production process of electronic assemblies, mechanical assemblies, cables, and test equipment, which are assembled in accordance with military specifications, work order sheets, engineering drawings, and engineering change orders that meet Lockheed Martin quality specifications.
~ Perform with minimal supervision, troubleshoot and repair of Printed Wiring Circuit board assemblies (e.g. soldering), equipment chassis wirings, mechanical component assemblies, and electronic component assemblies.
~ Correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components as directed by engineering.
~ Determine types of tests to be performed, and suggest recommendations to engineering for customer equipment / delivered product, and analyze test results to evaluate performance / issue resolution for equipment and products.
~ Set up test apparatus and conduct tests of electronic assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences; lay out and assemble units for production electronic equipment according to designs and specifications.
~ Adjust and calibrate systems as required; modify electronic equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by predetermined engineering diagrams and sketches.
~ Assist engineers in design and development of assembly / test procedures for new and deployed products, recommend product improvements or production modifications.
~ Use hand-held, small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties.
~ Maintain records as required to charge direct labor time to specific product amounts.
~ Keeps workstation, tools and equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
~ Understands and complies with all Company, safety rules and regulations.

You will work effectively throughout the RMS E&T organization, both vertically and horizontally, to build strong working team relationships in advancing product deliverables that meet program and customer expectations.
Basic Qualifications:
~ Associates degree or higher in a related technical field with 3 years or more of direct career experience in electronic, mechanical and cable assembly production, test, troubleshoot and repair environment.

~ Detail-oriented and proficient at interpreting engineering drawings, diagrams, parts lists, IPC manuals, revision control, reference documents and work instructions and material to facilitate electronic equipment, printed wired circuit board build, cable assembly, and mechanical assembly process, with the ability to perform assembly tasks in accordance with those documentations.

~ Proficient in component level troubleshooting and repair of electronic equipment, printed wired circuit boards, cable assemblies, and mechanical assemblies.

~ Experience with soldered, crimp, harness and mechanical inspection of cables IAW IPC-A-620 requirements as well as common hand tool usage.

~ Experience with measurements verification thru proper use of various devices (i.e. dial indicators, preset micrometers, calipers, scales, multimeter and oscilloscope).

~ This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

The base range for this position in New York is $30.47 - $35.85.
