Our employees are not only part of history, theyre making history. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a qualified Aircraft Structures Mechanic to join our E-2D program in Norfolk, VA. The selected candidate’s primary role will involve aircraft modifications/ enhancements on the E-2D aircraft. This includes, but is not limited to maintenance and technical modification to installed plenums, shelves, bulkheads and penetrations in a field environment. As this is a client-facing role, the technician will need to demonstrate effective in-person and written communication skills. The technician will be required to travel, up to 50, based upon client and mission requirements. *In addition to base pay, significant plus-ups can be earned for travel and overtime*
Basic Qualifications
- Must be a US Citizen with a High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Active or Very Recent (18 months or less) DOD Secret Clearance
- Must have a minimum of five (5) years of documented heavy structure repair experience. While E-2D is highly preferred, other fixed or rotary wing experience may be considered
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with hand tools (drills, cutters, bucking bars, clecos and precision measuring tools), and perform repairs in accordance with Navy technical publications and drawings
- Working knowledge of tool control and quality control/ management processes
- Must be able to work with appropriate protective gear, such as respirators and fall protection devices
- Must demonstrate effective communication and customer relation skills
- Ability to travel up to 50 of the time, from the home location of Norfolk, VA, based on customer schedule requirements
- Must be willing to work first or second shift, based upon customer requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- E-2D platform experience
- Familiarity with CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) and DCMAINST 8210 (series)
- Previous exposure to Contractor Ground Operating Procedures per above references
- Familiarity with the Safety Data Sheets associated with various chemicals
Salary Range: $51,400 - $85,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
