Job Description:

The Aircraft Technician reports directly to the Director of Maintenance. Under supervision, maintains the fleet according to FAA, Manufacturer’s, and FAA Approved Maintenance programs and recommendations. Diagnoses mechanical difficulties and determines the necessity of repair. Performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the aircraft. Maintains records in accordance with FAA regulations. Repairs and maintains ground support and hangar equipment.

Essential Functions

  • Assists in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with FAA and manufacturer’s specifications consistent with NexGen Flight Solutions policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the removal and installation of aircraft components in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications and in compliance with FAA requirements. 
  • Ensures the optimal operational status and reliability of company aircraft.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date aircraft maintenance records in accordance with FAA requirements and company policies and procedures.
  • Opens and monitors company forms such as Maintenance reports, aircraft status, inspection forms, purchase orders, invoices, work orders, and other documents as required.
  • Assists in parts ordering and receiving, external vendor auditing and surveillance, company manual revisions, and performing maintenance on ground service equipment.
  • Communicate with supervisor, other departments, employees, contractors, vendors/suppliers, and other individuals as needed to coordinate work activities, review the status of work, exchange information, or resolve problems.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, methods, and procedures relevant to Part 91 and 135 operations; attends workshops and training sessions as appropriate.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma required.
  • Preferred three (3) years of business jet maintenance experience
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and procedures used in the maintenance and repair of aircraft equipment.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and requirements.
  • Knowledge of testing procedures, service techniques, methods of troubleshooting, corrosion control, inspection requirements, and retirement times.
  • Knowledge of current FAA civilian maintenance standards, as outlined in FAR Part-91 and Part-135, Form 337s, STCs MEL, and Avionics.
  • Ability to read and understand wiring diagrams and systems schematics
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of aircraft.
  • Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language.
  • Fingerprinting required.
  • Post-offer drug screening in accordance with the following regulations is required: FAA 14 CFR Part 135; DOT 49 CFR Part 40; and FAA 14 CFR Part 120.
  • Must be willing and able to live and work in Easton, MD.
  • Must be willing and able to work weekends and holidays when required.
  • Some travel may be required. – 10% Travel

LICENSES/CERTIFICATES

  • Possess and maintain a valid FAA A&P.
  • Experience and/or formal training on the Gulfstream GIV series, Bombardier Global Express preferred.
