SkyBridge Aviation is hiring an Aircraft QA Inspector with aircraft structural and avionics background and aircraft modification experience. The QA Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance, repairs and modifications to aircraft structures and avionics systems comply with regulatory standards (e.g., FAA) and manufacturer specifications before the aircraft is returned to service.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Inspections: Conduct detailed in-progress and final inspections on aircraft structural components (fuselage, wings, landing gear, etc.) and avionics systems (navigation, communication, flight controls, electrical systems) to identify defects, damage, or corrosion.
• Monitor Modifications and Repairs: Oversee aircraft modification and repair projects, ensuring all work is accomplished according to engineering blueprints, structural repair manuals (SRM), wiring diagrams, service bulletins (SB), and airworthiness directives (AD).
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Verify that all maintenance and modification activities adhere strictly to applicable federal aviation regulations, such as 14 CFR Parts 43, 91, and 145.
• Documentation and Record Keeping: Prepare and maintain detailed inspection records, reports, and forms. Review and validate work orders, maintenance logs, and technical records for accuracy and completeness to approve airworthiness release documents.
• Evaluate Airworthiness: Make critical decisions regarding the airworthiness of an aircraft or component, approving or denying its return to service.
• Collaboration and Guidance: Interface with engineering, maintenance teams, and regulatory authorities (like the FAA) to resolve complex technical issues and discrepancies. Provide technical guidance and instruction to mechanics on proper repair techniques and quality standards.
• Quality Assurance Programs: Assist in managing and participating in the facility's Quality Assurance Inspection Program and internal audits.
• Safety and Risk Mitigation: Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all safety rules and procedures, including foreign object damage (FOD) prevention protocols.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Certification: A valid Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license is required.
• Experience: Several years of experience in aircraft maintenance, inspection, and modification, with a strong background in both structural mechanics and avionics systems.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and engineering specifications. Strong knowledge of corrosion control and non-destructive testing (NDT) awareness.
• Additional Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving and analytical skills, sound judgment, and excellent communication abilities.
• Computer Literacy: Familiarity with digital maintenance tracking systems and standard Microsoft Office software.
• Years of experience Required: 10 plus years of experience with 3 a minimum of years of inspection experience minimum.
• Due to the requirements of this role, US Citizenship is required.
