Job Objective


The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft systems and components, inspecting and diagnosing malfunctions, using power and hand tools to fix parts, and ensuring compliance with aviation safety regulations.


Essential Functions

  • Complete understanding of maintenance procedures and requirements
  • Evaluate and correct discrepancies when approved
  • Perform inspections in accordance with applicable maintenance manuals/337s and ICAs
  • Perform component overhauls and repairs
  • Comply with pre & post-maintenance check flights as required
  • Comply with flight line/ground runs/leak checks as required
  • Comply with track & balance as of required systems
  • Assist other departments as required
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)

  • Knowledge of FAA regulations and requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Education & Experience

  • Must possess a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and repair

Physical Demands

  • Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting for extended periods of time
  • Climbing heights on various equipment and aircraft
  • Lifting up to 50 or more pounds
  • Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required

Work Environment

  • Indoor/Outdoor environment with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible
  • Moderate to loud noise level 
  • Heavy machinery used

Work Status, Schedule, & Travel

  • Full-time
  • Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Overtime necessary depending on workload
  • No travel required
