About the Role:
In the role of the Advanced Hardware Engineer - Mechanical Sensor Design you will utilize your advanced expertise in hardware engineering to propel Honeywell forward, delivering innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. In this role, youll collaborate with some of the industrys most talented engineers, working under minimal supervision to contribute to the development of Honeywells next generation of sensor products. From conceptualization to market launch, youll be instrumental in designing, testing, and validating products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. As a key member of our team, youll provide invaluable expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs, while also serving as a mentor to junior engineers. Additionally, youll engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure products are completed to customer specifications.

LOCATION: 
This role can be worked from Freeport, IL or Richardson, TX on a flexible hybrid work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Support the design and development of sensing and controls products.
•Execute detailed mechanical design tasks with precision.
•Conduct testing, analyze results, and compile comprehensive reports.
•Strategically plan and execute project tasks to meet objectives.
•Assist in product and process certification for customer acceptance.
•Mentor and guide engineers, technicians, and associates to ensure compliance with project and product standards.
•Deliver presentations to leadership and external customers, effectively communicating project progress and outcomes.
•Collaborate with suppliers to ensure compliance with product and project requirements.
•Identify opportunities for technical improvements by leveraging advanced mechanical engineering principles.
•Effectively lead smaller projects with autonomy 

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS:
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE:
•Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
•3+ years of mechanical design experience 

WE VALUE:
•Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate directly customers, sales, marketing, production, and technical peers.
•Deep understanding of a variety of hardware engineering standards and specifications.
•Implement design for six sigma tools and methodologies throughout the design process.
•Ability to create 3-D computer models of mechanical parts.
•Experience with design of plastic molded parts and formed metal parts.
•Ability to create detailed 2-D dimensional drawings.
•Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex messages clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
•Engage with customers, sales, marketing, production, and technical peers.
•Collaborate seamlessly with a global, cross-functional team.
