A&P Mechanic

Position Summary:
Seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic with a strong background in both maintenance and inspection of reciprocating engine aircraft. This role requires expertise in Cessna, Beech and Piper single/multi-engine aircraft and involves a balance of hands-on maintenance work and inspection responsibilities. Rotax and Cirrus experience are highly preferred. Candidates with experience primarily in jet or turbine aircraft maintenance will not be a strong fit for this position.

Position Overview

The A&P Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing aircraft in compliance with FAA regulations and manufacturer guidelines. The role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on general aviation reciprocating engine aircraft.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, structural, and electrical issues.
  • Ensure all work meets FAA and manufacturer compliance standards.
  • Conduct annual inspections and 100-hour inspections.
  • If Inspection Authorization (IA) Certified, review and sign off aircraft logbooks and return aircraft to service.
  • Research, request, and manage necessary parts and inventory for maintenance projects.
  • Assist in reviewing Service Bulletins, Service Letters, and Airworthiness Directives (ADs).
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics as needed.
  • Communicate job progress with team leaders and management.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification is required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of General Aviation (GA) experience required. - Flight school preferred*
  • Inspection Authorization (IA) Certification is strongly preferred.**
  • Must own a full range of personal hand tools (shop tools such as calibrated torque wrenches, measuring devices, and borescopes are provided).
  • Experience in flight school maintenance is strongly preferred but not required.**
  • Avionics troubleshooting and installation experience is a plus.*
  • Additional training certifications from Lycoming, Continental, and Cirrus are a plus.*
