Job Title: Visual Inspector
Position Summary
Reporting to the Finishing Group Leader, the Visual Inspector performs routine visual and dimensional inspection and check castings for surface defects, shifts, contours, cleaning, chipping, grinding, blowholes, etc., using standard and prescribed methods, procedures and gauging devices.
Essential Responsibilities
- Inspects castings for dimensional accuracy and surface defects by performing duties assigned.
- Follow work instructions or engineering specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions
- Compares surface finish of work piece on surface gauge making fingertip touch comparison to ensure production of specified surface finish.
- Ability to use micrometers, calipers, hardness test equipment.
- Check all spanings for compliance with customer specifications.
Position Requirements
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Casting inspection experience preferred, but not necessary
- Knowledge of using precision measuring equipment
- Must be detail oriented
