Job Summary

This job is primarily responsible for purchasing and sourcing activities in support of regional operations. The role requires excellent interpersonal skills, knowledge of organizational policies, supplier relationship development and management, and traditional purchasing practices representing the Sourcing & Supply Department to front line operations.

Responsibilities
  • Essential duties include the following:
  • Responsible for regional purchasing on behalf of station operations (i.e. placing orders for standard supplies like uniforms, office supplies, operational supplies, safety supplies, etc.).
  • Review and research potential new suppliers prior to set up in the company’s accounting system, select and maintain a preferred supplier list for the region
  • Ensure adherence to standard organizational finance policies and procedures
  • Provide mentoring and support to Jr. Buyers within the Sourcing & Supply organization
  • Participate on cross-functional teams representing the Sourcing & Supply department
  • Manage employee appreciation program redemption and fulfillment process
  • Communicate with and drive internal customers to centralized purchasing programs through daily interactions
  • Negotiate, draft, and review contracts on behalf of the region and the larger organization while ensuring compliance with internal legal requirements
  • Manage day-to-day interaction with centralized supplier partners and review monthly centralized invoices to ensure contract pricing compliance
  • Negotiate/resolve centralized supplier grievances and claims against the company
  • Provide research and support to Purchasing Manager and Director
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel. - Knowledge of standard office equipment and of clerical and administrative procedures and systems - Bachelors Degree a plus/preferred. - minimum 5 years of purchasing/accounting or other relevant experience is preferred (finance, accounts payable, customer service).
  • Purchasing card administration experience a plus.
  • The ability to interact effectively with peers, executive staff, suppliers, and internal customers in a professional manner.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized and focused.
  • The ability to recognize and safeguard confidential information.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently to achieve team objectives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • The ability to work on multiple projects and to establish appropriate priorities.
  • Ability to maintain focus while operating in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
Preferred Skills
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to drive favorable outcomes.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g. CPSM, CSCP) is preferred
  • Proven track record of cost savings and process improvement initiatives
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Remain in a stationary position 50 of the time.
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • Walk short distances.
  • Reach above and/or below shoulder.
  • Handle/grasp documents or office equipment.
  • Sit and/or stand for short or extended periods of time.
  • Lift/carry/move objects, files, and documents up to 50 pounds.
  • Work in an office environment using standard office equipment.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
