Job description

Quality Technician
 
As a Quality Technician in the aerospace sector, you will support Daher’s Aerostructures business under the guidance of the Quality Engineer. Your role will involve applying your expertise across all phases of production to uphold our quality management system. You will be responsible for data and information management, problem-solving, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will contribute to maintaining a 5S workplace and assist with special projects that enhance operational efficiency. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will be essential in ensuring that we meet the highest standards in aerospace manufacturing.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management Support: Assist in maintaining the standards of Daher’s quality management system, focusing on data and information management, problem resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Process Monitoring: Track and monitor process and product control parameters to validate reliability and capability. Participate actively in real-time process management support to ensure consistent product quality.

  • Issue Resolution: Collaborate proactively with production personnel to address product or process issues, ensuring a defect-free environment. Facilitate complex problem-solving events such as 8D and QRQC to drive effective solutions.

  • Documentation Improvement: Continuously enhance products and written processes to meet or exceed customer expectations. Assess the effectiveness of approved quality systems and implement necessary improvements.

  • Metrics Transparency: Assist in maintaining transparency related to company metrics, continuous improvement initiatives, and 5S standards. Participate in management reviews and internal audits as required.

  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to ISO and AS9100 quality system standards, facilitating compliance in all quality-related activities.

Profile and other information related to the position

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in continuous improvement and process control tools (e.g., SPC, MSA, Control Plans).
  • Strong understanding of ISO/AS9100 quality systems standards.
  • Proficient in performing dimensional measurements and interpreting product specifications using hand-held measuring tools.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerances per ASME/ANSI Y 14.5.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, are required.
  • Willingness to work any shift as needed.
