​The Material Handler I – 1st Shift performs a variety of manual/administrative tasks associated with inventory control, stockroom, expediting and shipping and receiving operations in accordance with established procedures.

What You Will Do:

• Receives, checks, stores, issues and ships a variety of items and maintains inventory control.

• Uses assistance and/or powered mechanical means to load, unload, store and deliver a variety of incoming and outgoing material.

• Prepares and packages small and large parts using proper procedures and materials.

• Processes purchase orders for spare tooling and materials.

• Proficiently uses computer hardware/software.

• Oversees parts preparation, material handling, measuring and packaging equipment.

• Oversees inventory and maintains all government tooling property according to military regulations.

• Uses assorted measuring and weight recording devices.

• Keeps equipment and surrounding areas neat and clean.

• Performs other related duties as required within the scope of this job function.

• Occasionally lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds

• Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline.

• U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Must be comfortable operating a sit down forklift.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.

• Ability to write simple correspondence in English.

• Basic PC operational skills including but not limited to using a keyboard, mouse, basic data entry and email.

• Prior relevant experience in inventory control or material handling role required.

• Organizational and Time Management Skills
