Job Description:

Nature & Scope of Position

The USM Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing and maintaining the appropriate quantities and levels of used serviceable material (USM) for the respective product lines through StandardAero’s network of supply vendors and StandardAero asset reduce to spares (RTS). This role focuses on ensuring the availability of cost-effective parts while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations. The position requires daily interaction and cooperation with the Inventory Planners, Customer Service, and External Suppliers to ensure all inventory will be available to meet engine build requirements. 

Position Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with USM suppliers
  • Submit and evaluate quotes for USM parts required to support production. 
  • Create purchase orders to the appropriate suppliers.
  • Coordinate the purchase of parts from reduce to spares (RTS) engines.
  • Liaise with suppliers on the availability of parts, current status, expected delivery dates, pricing, etc.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends and pricing dynamics.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to supplier quality or delivery.
  • Advise Inventory Planners of all potential material delays or problems that will affect production scheduling.
  • Continually update purchase order delivery dates and pricing changes to ensure the system is up to date with the latest information.
  • Coordinate the 
  • Work with accounts payables to ensure all purchase order issues and vendor credits are resolved and received in a timely manner.
  • Monitor material inventories including min/max levels and reserved material on a regular basis. 
  • Support co-workers during vacation/sick time, etc.
  • Perform other departmental duties as requested.
  • Model behaviors consistent with good quality, health and safety, and environmental management practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum grade 12 education
  • Preference will be given to individuals with post-secondary education or equivalent experience in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting and/or Inventory Control.     
  • Strong negotiation and communications skills as individual will be working with various internal/external contacts.
  • Computerized inventory system experience.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with engine maintenance, repair and overhaul considered an asset.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and deal with time-sensitive information required to meet production goals. 
  • Systematic thinker/problem solver with good organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Working Environment:

An individual in this capacity must be aware of that the position will involve:

  • Working in an office setting, spending a good portion of the workday in front of the computer and on the phone.
  • There will be a requirement to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while working on the shop floor.
  • Must be able to work occasional overtime based on production requirements.
