About This Role

Your challenges

  • Test Project Engineer: develop requirements with the client; develop test plan; write/code tests; execute tests (on avionics benches, integrated benches, full simulator and the aircraft); report anomalies; software qualification before deployment on CF-18 fleet.
  • Test improvements and/or the design of new functionalities for the following three onboard software applications: mission computer, armament computer and communication control unit.
  • Innovative and captivating projects that optimize the operational effectiveness of the CF-18. Among others: improve performance indicators of missile and new GPS and LASER guided bombs, develop GPS navigation, integrate new infrared detector, integrate new MIDS data transmission system, etc.
  • Must work with operational specialists (CF-18 pilots).
  • Possibility of supporting the Canadian Armed Forces on the ground during flight exercises (Bold Quest, Maple Flag, etc.).
  • Work will be performed mostly in Mirabel (occasionallyin Saint-Laurent).

Your strengths

  • Bachelor of engineering.
  • 0-2 years of professional experience.
  • C, C++ or C programming, an asset.
  • Knowledge of aeronautics and/or avionics and/or testing, an asset.
  • Experience in development and/or integration and/or in the real-time testing of embedded software, an asset.
  • Knowledge of commercial or military aircraft systems operation, avionics systems, testing procedures, Integrated Test Facilities or simulators, an asset.
  • Ability to work on a team and interact with different multidisciplinary groups.
  • Ability to communicate in English and French (spoken and written) on a technical subject.

Operational requirements

  • CAE employees must be able to meet the requirements of the Canada Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and in certain cases, ITAR requirements.
  • Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canadau2019s u201CReliabilityu201D status andLevel 2 (Secret)security clearance.
  • Main work location is not accessible via public transportation. Acaris needed.
