Role Summary
We’re recruiting for a Supplier Development Engineer who will be accountable for driving and improving supplier performance across the division. You’ll collaborate with Supply Chain management, Quality, and our Engineering teams, ensuring customer requirements are met. This position reports directly into the Supplier Development Manager.
Your responsibilities
- Drive performance improvements in Delivery, Cost and Quality within the supply chain division
- Drive long term structural improvements at key suppliers
- Evaluate supplier process capabilities
- Track supplier performance through pHConnect metrics
- Lead High Performance Teams with sites to drive Work Transfer projects to closure
- Collaborate with the sites to establish preferred supplier selection criteria based on evaluations of supplier price, quality, delivery, certifications, and compliance
- Oversee timely completion of supplier corrective and preventive actions
- Use network of aerospace suppliers to find expeditive solutions in case of line-stop situations
- In case of overload at a supplier, make sure Parker Aerospace is served as a top-priority customer
- Have a deep understanding of Aerospace requirements and supports all compliance activities as needed
Who we’re looking for:
- Ability to travel up to 50
- Master’s Degree; Mechanical, Electronic or Manufacturing Engineering preferred
- Aerospace industry experience
- Supplier development experience
- Must have implemented PPAP and Quality System Improvements in the supply base
- Advanced computer skills with ability to understand electronic processing
- Six Sigma Green Belt
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
- An innovator and embrace Lean Enterprise principles and practices
