Exciting Opportunity withinthe Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) organization!

TheCNS organization designs, builds, and maintains some of the worlds most valuedsafety systems within the Aerospace industry. The product line spans fromWeather, Radar, Ground Proximity Warning Systems, Instrumented Landing Systems,Communication, Datalink and Navigation Radios, RF, Transponders, Traffic CollisionAvoidance Systems and Radar Altimeters.

As a Sr Advanced Hardware Engineer, withinthe Traffic and Surveillance product group within the Communication, Navigationand Surveillance COE, you will play a critical role in delivering high qualityproducts for commercial Avionics, transponders, TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems) and Integrated Surveillance Systems. This position will be in Olathe, Kansas as part of a larger onsitesupport team to include design, electronic test, and advanced manufacturingengineering.  

Key Responsibilities
  • You will take on a design engineering role supporting the Olathe production site on hardware design improvements and design teams in Arizona with new hardware designs for Traffic and Surveillance products
  • Lead hardware design efforts supporting manufacturing on RCCAs to improved factory first pass yields.
  • Provide design support on the development of new products working with the design teams in Deer Valley, Arizona.
  • Guide the development process and create artifacts that meet FAA/EASA requirements.
  • Support Honeywell Leadership and Honeywell customer meetings
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware development, electrical or system level engineering or hardware systems experience
WE VALUE
  • Understanding of a variety of hardware engineering standards and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of hardware design principles and methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of product and process technologies or broad knowledge of multiple product and process technologies
  • Knowledge of TCAS, Transponder, RF, Integrated Surveillance Systems, or related products desired
  • Familiar with FAA certification processes a plus.
  • Experience with resolving manufacturing related issues and customer returns
  • Experience with oversight of hardware Qualification testing
  • Ability to communicate project status and technical concepts with Management and Customers
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate business impact and continuous drive for improvement
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions and balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness in an ambiguous environment
  • Lead factory interface and product introduction
  • Support FAA Certification Activities as TSO Specialists
