This position is for the Sr. Advanced Embedded Software Engineer in the Commercial Navigation Software team reporting to the Senior Software Engineering Manager, Commercial Navigation Software. You will be based in Minneapolis, MN, working on a hybrid schedule.

As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for utilizing advanced knowledge of engineering discipline, processes, and tools to complete and ensure compliance of various project software subtasks. You will also interact with internal and external customers to facilitate the completion of software work products that meet customer specifications. Additionally, you will help develop and define engineering processes within the Center of Excellence, and serve as a mentor to lower-level engineers.

Key Responsibilities
      • Responsible for planning and executing project subtasks in order to meet customer specifications (designing, developing, testing, etc.) for a safety critical product.
      • Assists in the completion of products to achieve certification and customer acceptance.
      • May provide direction to other Engineers, Technicians and Associates to ensure project and product compliance.
      • Conducts project status and process presentations for leadership and external customers.
      • Interfaces with vendors and suppliers to ensure product and project compliance.
      • Communicates any non-compliance and the results of any internal project audits to pertinent parties.
      • Establishes and applies methodology to new concepts and recommends enhancements to advance projects and processes.
      • Identifies and proposes technical improvements using engineering knowledge and principles.
      • May assist in developing Aerospace Engineering processes and guidelines.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

You Must Have
      • 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related discipline. 
      • Experience in C/C++, Model-Based Design (MBD) or related embedded software technologies. 


We Value 
      • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, or a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, mathematics. 
      • Extensive working experience with DO-178C process.
      • Ability to positively influence others and create a passion for excellence. 
      • Ability to support multiple projects while meeting customer expectations. 
      • Inertial sensing and navigation domain knowledge. 
      • Experience with software architectures, design methods & development process, including thorough working knowledge of real-time, embedded software design & development in a regulated industry. 
      • Understanding of aerospace industry software development standards and requirements (or other safety critical/high regulatory industries). 
      • Self-motivated and consistently takes the initiative to get things done.
