Software Engineer
Fort Bragg, NC
Contract Position
$47.00-$57.00/Hour
Support special operations forces by contributing to logistics and ground support systems that ensure the readiness and effectiveness of elite units. This role provides the chance to support high-priority missions, offering insights into the logistics and sustainment of critical defense operations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and optimize software solutions to enhance the logistics and ground support systems for special operations forces, contributing to mission-critical defense operations.
- Develop and implement software solutions by analyzing user needs, system flows, and data usage, following the software development lifecycle.
- Create and document solutions through flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and well-documented, clean code.
- Design and install solutions by defining system specifications, standards, and programming requirements.
- Conduct systems analysis to improve operations, recommending policy and procedural changes as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of advanced development tools and programming techniques, supporting continuous professional growth.
- Protect sensitive information to ensure confidentiality in all operations.
- Support and mentor junior software engineers, offering guidance and development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of experience as a software engineer, including programming and systems analysis.
- Proficiency in two or more programming languages such as Java, C, or Ruby (Java and .NET preferred).
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming and writing high-quality, well-tested code.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as XP, Scrum, or Kanban.
- Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and containerization tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed for project support.
