Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer (Level 5) to support the Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) Team in Berkeley, MO.

This critical role ensures the seamless integration of diverse aircraft systems and components, directly enhancing the performance, safety, and reliability of our next-generation aircraft. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in engineering with specialized expertise in systems integration. They will demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration skills, guiding a team of engineers to develop and deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that drive our mission forward.

Position Responsibilities

• Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
• Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
• Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
• Leads analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
• Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.

Travel may be required up to 10 of the time; Domestically and/or internationally depending on business needs.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.   An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
• 10+ years of systems engineering and architecture experience
• Proven experience leading system architecture for multi-domain systems or system-of-systems proposals.
• Strong hands-on experience with requirements development and management, interface control, trade studies, models, and MBSE practices and tools.
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical proposal volumes and supporting capture activities.
• Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs and RFP requirements into feasible, cost-conscious architectures and programmatic strategies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; ability to brief senior leadership and customers.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Experience with defense, aerospace, or other regulated industries and familiarity with DFARS/FAR and relevant security/classification handling.
• Proficiency with MBSE tools (e.g., Cameo/Capella/No Magic), DOORS/Polarion/Jama, SysML, UML, and modelling/simulation tools.
• Background in systems engineering processes such as INCOSE, ISO 15288, or MIL standards.
• Experience with systems engineering for software-intensive systems, cloud-enabled missions, PNT, avionics, C2, ISR, or communications systems.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as spanet and business considerations.  Summary pay range: $164,900 – $223,100
