Boeing is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Production Engineering Manager to support F/A-18 Service Life Modification Program in San Antonio, TX.
In this pivotal role as Senior Production Engineering Manager, you will lead a dynamic team of Engineers and Technical Integrators, driving efforts to define, stabilize, and improve the production system for the SLM Program.

Preference will be given to those candidates with experience on F/A-18, MRO programs, and interaction with the customer community (USN/DoD). Knowledge of Boeing processes, demonstrated working relationships with internal partners and experience overseeing contracted program and engineering performance is highly valued.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in Production Engineering and Technical Integration. Develop and motivate employees to achieve their potential.
Develop and execute project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures.
CoChair the F/A-18 SLM Material Review Board (MRB)
Provide technical oversight of all repair and modification activities across the three locations where SLM is performed.
Set operational goals and acquire necessary resources for projects and processes to ensure program requirements are achieved on time.
Develop key working relationships with the PMA-265 and NAVAIR engineering customer, communicate priority for all customer approvals to prevent and alleviate production delays, work stoppages or reduce cost.
Establish metrics and briefs tracking engineering precedence usage, engineering analysis status, and implementation of process improvements.
Support SLM contracting activities providing Basis of Estimates, statement of work revisions, proposal and negotiations with USN customer.
Define aircraft work scope requirements using aircraft configuration data, deferred repair requirements from SLM pregrooming and aircraft logbook
Track aircraft repairs and maintenance during SLM, provide technical data package to support delivery extending aircraft flight hours, O level maintenance and other USN inspection credit.
Continuous communications with NAMCE and PMA-265 on received aircraft material condition SLM pregrooming activities, provide recommendations to improve material condition and reduce workload at SLM.
Provide technical management of suppliers and lead process improvement initiatives.
Oversee and approve technical approaches, products, and processes for the SLM program.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
Posses or able to obtain MRB authority
Proven experience in leading engineering teams and projects.
Strong understanding of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul processes.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience on the F/A-18 SLM program as an engineering leader.
Established working relationships with PMA-265 and NAVAIR engineering
Posses MRB authority for F/A-18 SLM or other St Louis programs
Posses NAVAIR Delegated Engineering authority for the F/A-18 E/F and EA-18G
Knowledge of the F/A-18 SLM program organization, program goals, and requirements.
Familiarity with critical path methodology and project leadership principles.
Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
Experience with initial development of programs and defining engineering requirements

Summary Initial pay range: $155,550- $210,450
