JOB SUMMARY

  • Participates in quarterly vulnerability assessments and annual penetration tests, working with 3rd party security when required.
  • Sets standards for department policies and processes.
  • Create and maintain current network design, flow, and scenario documentation, including redundancy, while monitoring and reporting on network utilization, bottlenecks, and upgrade projections.
  • Work with IT and Corporate Trainers on security awareness and education initiatives, and assisting System Administrators directly where able.
  • Stays abreast of emerging technologies and market trends within the retail space and makes recommendations to align with the business strategic initiatives.
  • Translates business requirements into technical designs that ensure availability, stability, scalability, security, and recoverability.
  • Accountable for the quality of the implemented solutions. Works with business partners to ensure design meets desired outcomes.
  • Provides oversight for the development of prototypes and setting technology direction.
  • Defines and promotes processes, policies, standards and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies. Responsible for creating deliverables that are consistent with defined architecture principles, standards, methodologies and best practices.
  • Develops and maintains artifacts in the Architecture Library.
  • Governs the introduction of new technologies. Reviews, aligns, and drives technology plans with enterprise goals, business plans and business processes.
  • Researches and evaluates all types of technology to include network performance tools, server types, network equipment types, application software, plug-ins, security technology, industry practices, and creates detailed responses to provide the business with recommendations that add value and increase productivity.
  • Significant experience with the TCP/IP suite of protocols, including ICMP, routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP, and MPLS Layer 3 VPNs.
  • Significant experience with telecommunication technologies such as TDM, SONET, DWDM, MPLS, Cellular and carrier Ethernet.
  • Subject matter expertise with network services such as DNS/DHCP, 802.1X, 802.11, QoS, Call Admission Control, WAN optimization, etc.
  • Experience with voice and video standards and services over an IP infrastructure (i.e. SIP, H.323, MGCP, SBC, etc.)- Demonstrates ability to lead and design conceptual, logical and physical architecture which is ready to implement/execute and meeting business capability requirements.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of at least one infrastructure domains like data center, network, storage, and compute.
  • Demonstrates ability to develop architecture solutions at the line of business and departmental levels.
  • Demonstrates ability to evaluate and assess new technologies.
  • Displays a strong commitment to the customer experience and to deliver quality service, products and architecture artifacts.
  • Understands and is guided by the business and the New Normal and Project Compass goals and strategies, inclusive of understanding technology, process and people dependencies and financial responsibility.
  • Ability to drive short-term actions that are consistent with long-term goals. Establishes and implements standards for computer operations for compatibility between hardware and software, according to specifications and parameters.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves software, operating system, and networking problems.
  • Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and, when necessary, performs data recoveries.
  • Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and storage forecasts.
  • Schedules, plans and performs system upgrades, including coordinating the transition from test to production environments.
  • Schedule tasks using software support tools and scripts.
  • Configures hardware, such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices.
  • Provides technical support for system users.
