The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to support our Advanced Design and Prototype Solutions (ADaPS) located in Huntsville, Alabama. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Services (BDS) business organization.
Boeing’s Advanced Design and Prototype Solutions (ADaPS) organization in Huntsville, AL is looking for multiple software developers to contribute to advanced development of Integrated Air Missile Defense (IAMD) systems.
ADaPS (an organization of over 100 software engineers) supports programs across the entire portfolio of Boeing products including Space Launch System (SLS), IAMD efforts including Patriot Advanced Capability, and a variety of weapons, aircraft, and space programs across the Boeing Enterprise.
ADaPS specializes in implementing rapid prototyping and development programs using small, adaptable agile teams. Position Responsibilities:
Develop and field embedded flight software for IAMD systems
Develop firmware and integrate with hardware/software
Develop and test algorithms for enhanced software capabilities
Serve as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes, and regulations
Advise engineering leadership and program management regarding technical and strategic direction
Lead small agile teams composed of diverse engineering skills
Use your talents to tackle complex problems on a variety of programs
Develop technical products, plans, documentation, and briefings in support of program requirements
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance post-start
7+ years of professional experience with C, C++, C, Python, Java, or Ada
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Physics or related field
Experience leading software development teams
Experience with programming language VHDL
Experience with embedded systems architecture, design, and debugging
Experience with missile defense sensor algorithms or algorithms for digital signal processing
Experience with sensor systems for complex conversion of analog and waveform data
Experience with optical or electromagnetic (RF - radio frequency) sensing systems
Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment practices
Experience with instituting and maintaining DevSecOps practices and processes
Experience with real-time operating systems, e.g. VxWorks
Some work experience or knowledge of telemetry protocols and testing
Experience with LabVIEW modeling
Travel: Less than 10 (closer to zero)

Summary Pay Range for Senior Level: $132,600 - $179,400
