The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team is seeking a Senior Electro-Physics Engineer to join the Space Electronics One Boeing & New Business team in El Segundo, CA or Kihei, HI. In this role, you will lead design teams in developing innovation solutions for avionics products across multiple domains. 

This position utilizes experience leading multi-skilled engineering teams through space-flight design projects, programmatic processes, and development of solutions to challenging problems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and validates requirements for unique communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components.

  • Develops and validates electromagnetic requirements for electricalelectronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures.

  • Develops architectures to integrate multiple systems into higher level systems and platforms.

  • Leads development of trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analysis to predict component, interconnects and system performance and to optimize design around complex requirements.

  • Develops new and improved modeling and simulation techniques.

  • Leads development and execution of critical tests to validate performance of designs to requirements.

  • Manages appropriate aspects of critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.

  • Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues.

  • Supports project management by providing coordinating development of work statement, budget, schedule and other required inputs and conducting appropriate reviews.

  • Creates new tools to improve management of projects.

  • Leads development of major sections of large-scale proposals to support development of new business.

  • Works under consultative direction.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position may require up to 10 travel.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience developing and validating requirements for unique communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components.

  • Experience developing architectures to integrate multiple systems into higher level systems and platforms.

  • Experience managing critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements.

  • Experience leading development of major sections of large-scale proposals to support development of new business.

Typical Education/Experience:

Senior, Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD&43;9 years related work experience, Master&43;12 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior, Level 6: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD&43;15 years related work experience, Master&43;18 years related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Summary pay range, Level 5: $145,350 – $210,450

Summary pay range, Level 6: $177,650 - $257,600
