Your responsibilities- Conduct Reliability, Maintainability, and Safety (RMS) analysis to ensure an effective through-life support capability for the system.
- Review and analyze system and equipment designs for compliance with reliability and maintainability requirements.
- Collaborate with design engineers on specifications, influencing Reliability and Maintainability (RAM) considerations in their designs.
- Provide technical support to the shop floor for daily operations and issue resolution.
- Support fabrication activities for the first article unit of each design, addressing any processing challenges.
- Perform Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Preliminary System Safety Assessment (PSSA), and System Safety Assessment (SSA).
- Develop System Reliability Reports (SRR) using Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Common Cause Analysis (CCA), and Common Mode Analysis (CMA).
- Prepare System Maintainability Reports and Equipment Reliability Predictions (including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and FTA).
- Conduct Piece-Part Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and prepare Failure Modes and Effects Summaries.
- Analyze and report on Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removals (MTBUR) to assess system performance and reliability.
- Identify, implement, and lead process improvement initiatives, business unit optimizations, and corrective actions.
- Lead efforts to analyze non-conformances and reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
- Oversee the technical management of product transfers across work sites.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members.
- Offer technical support across all Actuation Systems sites
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems, or a related field).
- +8 years of experience in Reliability, Maintainability, and Safety (RMS) engineering, preferably in the aerospace, defense, automotive, or industrial sectors.
- Experience with RAM analysis tools and techniques.
- Working knowledge of failure analysis methodologies such as FMEA, FTA.
- Experience with MTBF and MTBUR calculations and reporting.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in reliability engineering software (e.g., ReliaSoft, RAM Commander, or equivalent).
- Understanding of engineering drawings, design specifications, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to perform statistical data analysis and predictive modeling for reliability assessments.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action processes.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
