Job Description:
The QMS Project Engineer reports directly to the Quality Manager on all matters relating to Quality, safety, and company policy. The QMS Project Engineer is the key member of the V2X Quality Management System (QMS) Internal Audit Team. As an QMS Auditor, this position will work with all levels of the AHTS Organization to ensure QMS requirements across programs, functions, and platforms are in compliance. The role requires a strong understanding of AS9100, AS9110, ISO 9001:2015, effective communication skills and the ability to work independently. This individual will support the goals and objectives of the V2X Internal Audit Team.

Their duties may also include drafting, publishing, and maintaining accuracy of procedures within the QMS that support compliance with the PWS and AS9110C standards. This position is also responsible for the training, leadership and management of personnel assigned to the Quality Assurance Department.

Must possess the ability to communicate accurately and concisely, both orally and in writing. Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand the English language.

Must possess exceptional Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Essential Duties and Accountabilities

Lead, conduct, and plan internal QMS audits for compliance to the AS9100/AS9110 series of standards in support of the V2X Quality Management System.

Perform all formal responsibilities of a Lead Auditor such as audit team selection; audit planning; representing the audit team with V2X site leadership; conducting opening and closing meetings and daily debriefs with management; completing an audit report and issuing, reviewing and approving formal corrective actions.

Perform/participate in the Corrective Action process.

Experienced in facilitation of corrective action responses, including advanced RC analysis tools.

Ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented and closed according to the schedule.

Serve as liaison and interface to the Audit Team during site audits. Facilitate the Audit schedules, logistics, and closure of corrective actions.

Promptly inform the Quality Manager and/or Site Manager of deficiencies discovered that impact quality and/or safety.

Systematically and efficiently gather, analyze and maintain information on maintenance and material defects that impact the aircraft maintenance program.

Review all incoming technical publications and directives for their impact on the AHTS Quality Management System.

Evaluate existing methods, procedures, and/or systems for potential improvements and cost effectiveness.

Develop/edit SOPs.

Must have the ability to interpret and understand a government issued Performance Work Statement (PWS) and associated documents.

Actively support the Companys Safety philosophy and programs. Enforce all Company and Government regulations to ensure safety, security and preservation of Government and Company-owned equipment.

Perform other reasonably related incidental duties when directed within the job classification.

Job Requirements:
Qualification Standards

  • Minimum 5 years of quality assurance experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of Aerospace QMS auditing experience preferred.
  • Applied knowledge and experience with auditing AS9100/AS9110.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with management presentations and communication to leadership.
  • Able to function effectively without direct supervision.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to lead teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship required, as the candidate must have the ability to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance within first year of start date.
Physical demands and environmental conditions

This classification activity is usually accomplished in an office-like environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with office activities. May occasionally be required to lift objects whose weight exceeds 30 pounds.
