The Integrated Solutions Modeling and Architecture Directorate performs customer focused operational analysis, simulation, mission planning and architecture development activities within Raytheon, an RTX company. Supporting this mission are teams driving flexible integrated solutions crossing all product areas (sensors, effectors, command and control, logistics and operations), developing tools and methods to evaluate system level studies and develop visualizations based on customer requirements. Join this highly visible team and perform highly technical assignments, directly contributing to protecting our nation and our warfighters. Specifically, we are looking for a Principal Mission Planning Engineer to join the Mission Planning Section. This Section’s goals are to assist in developing a system Concept of Operation for the entire process from mission planning to weapon employment; to support, drive, and enable key business captures/current programs; execute special projects, and drive corporation-wide business opportunities.

What You Will Do
- You will join a team of engineers and analysts to realize Mission Planning team objectives:
- Become the “go-to” source for mission planning expertise.
- Develop common mission planning solutions across programs, Captures and IRADs
- Grow a mission planning cadre with varied experience and skills.
- Provide guidance, direction, mentoring and influencing skills, and foster teamwork, interdependent execution, and growth for earlier career Engineers.
- Develop team expertise in mission planning methods, Universal Armament Interface (UAI), software development, and tools.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders guiding the future of mission planning.
- Engage directly in mission planning working groups supporting the standardization of interfaces
- Support domestic travel as needed (up to 20)
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
- Experience in at least one of the following: Common Weapon Component, Universal Armament Interface (UAI), Common Flexible Weapon (CFW), military/weapon systems requirements / interface definition or Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS).
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: System performance- CONOPS, signal processing algorithms, aerodynamics, modeling & simulation, aircraft integration / store interface, Datalink and GPS configuration.
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Advanced Degree in STEM (and can be considered as additional experience)
- Experience defining mission planning data and associated files
- Experience with the software development life cycle
- Strong mentoring skills, both technically and professionally
- Experience and knowledge of the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS) or RTX Lifecycle Program Management (RLPM), Earned Value Management, Proposals and Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
- Top Secret clearance

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
