Be a part of Honeywell’s exciting Weather Radar product line! Use your advanced knowledge of the hardware engineering discipline, processes and tools to help Honeywell Aerospace deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the worlds most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Honeywells next generation of Weather Radar products by designing, testing and/or validating products/processes from prototype to spanet, with a heavy focus on quality, roll-throughput yield, afterspanet, and factory support.
You will also have ownership and accountability for sustainment of our fielded radar products. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs while acting as a mentor to more junior engineers. You will interact with internal and external customers to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications.
Responsibilities
- Expert at understanding aerospace processes for hardware development and change management.
- Coordinate with OEMs, authoring, submitting, and tracking notifications of change.
- Assist in product and process certification for customer acceptance.
- Guide engineers, technicians and associates to ensure project and product compliance to industry and OEM standards.
- Present to leadership and external customers.
- Support obsolescence team in identifying and qualifying alternate parts.
- Draft and release drawing changes in Team Center.
- Consult with vendors and suppliers to ensure product and project compliance.
- Communicate any non-compliance incidents and results of internal project audits to stakeholders.
- Identify design opportunities and propose technical improvements by applying advanced electrical concepts and practices.
- Plan and execute project subtasks (designing, testing, certification, and qualification).
- Work across disciplines within the Honeywell Aerospace business to drive growth and reach critical business milestones.
- Represent Radar engineering and be recognized as a technical expert in cross-functional teams such as In-Service Resolution Boards (IRB), Product Action Committees (PAC), and Global Sourcing.
- Develop program plans and be the technical lead for program including supporting qualification activities, certification, customers approval, and production cut-in.
Qualifications
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics (Electrical Engineering preferred)
- 10 years of experience in Aerospace or related industry.
- Strong understanding of DO254 and DO160G.
- Strong understanding of FAA and TSO certification processes.
