Job Description:

The Methods Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity. This role involves applying engineering principles to develop and implement methods that optimize production processes, equipment, and systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•tAnalyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
•tDesign and implement new methods, processes, and procedures to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
•tDevelop and maintain work instructions, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
•tCollaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations and improve workflow.
•tConduct time and motion studies to establish labor standards and optimize resource utilization.
•tIdentify and implement automation and technology solutions to improve manufacturing processes.
•tPerform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address production issues.
•tConduct feasibility studies for new projects and provide recommendations for process improvements.
•tMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track process efficiency and effectiveness.
•tParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing projects.
Job Requirements:

a) Education
•\tBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work history.

b) Experience
•\tThree to five years of experience in methods engineering, process improvement, or industrial engineering.

c) Knowledge and Technical skills
•\tStrong analytical skills and the ability to identify inefficiencies and develop solutions.
•\tProficiency in CAD software, simulation tools, and other engineering applications.
•\tKnowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
•\tProject management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
•\tExperience with Six Sigma or other quality improvement techniques is a plus.
•\tKnowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.

d) Communication Skills
•\tExcellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
•\tAbility to read, analyze, and interpret technical data (blueprints, drawings, bill of materials)
•\tAbility to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
•\tAbility to formalize repair and work processes and write procedures for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
•\tAbility to effectively report present information to management, public groups, and/or top management.

e) Physical Demands
•\tThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
•\tIncumbent in this position must occasionally squat, crawl, climb, crouch, kneel, balance and push/pull and may be required to reach above shoulder level, must frequently bend/stoop. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
•\tAverage visual acuity is required; must be able to use video display terminal, and color acuity is required. This job requires better than average manual dexterity; while performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. Must be able to operate moving devises/tools and operate vehicles.
•\tAbility to travel as required – domestically and internationally.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
