Role Summary
* This role is responsible for supporting the design, development, and documentation of mechanical, fluid, and thermal systems, including flight simulator components and aircraft cockpit structures. The engineer will perform detailed design development, spatial integration, and modifications at the system or component level. This position requires supporting proposal preparation, new business development, and interfacing with suppliers while working under general supervision. Education / Job Requirements
* Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
* Must have experience with Siemens NX CAD system.
* Must have experience designing flight simulators and aircraft cockpit structures.
* Must have experience designing parts for 3D printing, CNC machining, and waterjet cutting.
* Must have experience designing packaging for electrical systems.
* Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Must have experience in general fabrication, precision machining, and complex assembly techniques. Preferred Skills
* Minimum of 2 years of experience designing flight simulation or trainer equipment.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience using the NX CAD system.
* Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Job Duties / Functions
* Will participate in the design and development of mechanical systems and structures for flight simulators.
* Will support machinists with the fabrication and assembly of flight simulators.
* Will interface with suppliers and buyers to support the purchase of mechanical fabrication services.
* Will assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems.
* Will assist in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts.
* Will perform detailed design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations.
* Will perform spatial integration at the system or component level and modification of mechanisms, landing gear, and ordnance systems.
* Will work under general supervision.
