Job Summary
GKN Aerospace needs a Manufacturing Engineering Apprentice to support state of the art programs, to facilitate new production programs, develop existing programs and provide a support to future programs.
Job Responsibilities
General
- Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring compliance with the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards
- Deliver technical support of manufacturing process development and integration for production
- Employ Zero Defect Manufacturing tools to eliminate non-conformances.
- Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
- Continuously improve production processes by implementing Lean Initiatives
- Support/lead root cause and corrective action investigations
- Interface with interested parties as a member of the product IPT
- Responsible for the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing process solutions to complex problems
- Identifies and anticipates technical problems and offers solutions
- Ability to perform statistical analysis and process capability
- Self-starter and pro-active problem solver
- Ability to develop working relationships with other departments
- Sets example through own behavior and attitude. Able to contribute to effective project plans
- Ability to explain concepts to a variety of audiences effectively
Job Requirements:
Job Qualifications
Formal Qualifications
• Bachelor's in engineering or related fields (i.e. Mechanical, Materials, Chemical, Aerospace, etc.)
• Experience with 3D CAD software. Preferably NX or CATIA
• Strong Communication skills
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance
Essential
• U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements.
Physical
• Must be able to work in a production environment and travel throughout the facility and corporation to obtain information needed to perform job functions.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 30lbs, using proper lifting techniques.
