Summary:
Conduct technical studies of a complex nature and analyze existing or proposed operations.
Prepare reports recommending necessary equipment and optimal manufacturing methods, detailing complex assemblies and installation sequences.
Author detailed work instructions to optimize manufacturing efficiency and ensure zero defects in collaboration with Operations Engineers.
Develop DRDI/DMT rework instructions to support effective corrective actions.
Create MBOMs in SAP, Solumina, or Corridor (as applicable) to ensure all parts defined by Engineering are installed during the assembly/installation process.
Assist in make-or-buy proposals, recommend corrective actions, evaluate vendors, attend negotiations, and help resolve vendor issues.
Conduct research and analysis to ensure project conformance to requirements.
Prepare justifications for equipment and facility requests.
Perform producibility studies from engineering drawings to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
Participate in Design for Manufacturing assessments with Engineering.
Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing needs and potential.
Perform audits of co-workers output based on defined requirements and procedures.
Demonstrate knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering policies and procedures.
Incorporate Lean Manufacturing methodologies into current and future processes.
Lead and coordinate project implementation between multiple organizations with minimal supervision.
Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to manufacturing methods as a team member or leader.
Support Safety, Sustainability, and Ergonomic initiatives.
Aid in developing and maintaining the Business Continuity Plan.
Ensure Quality policies are practiced, recommend improvements, and implement procedures to enhance quality.
Maintain accurate daily/weekly activity status reports based on work output.
Required Skills:
Proven knowledge of Lean and/or Six Sigma principles.
Familiarity with engineering configuration requirements, tooling, quality control, plant safety, blueprint reading, and shop math.
Ability to operate computerized equipment such as personal computers, CADAM, CATIA, Solumina, SAP, and Corridor.
Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt Certification or higher preferred.
