Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a XP Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team based in Mobile, AL

As Head of X-Plant Manufacturing Engineering, the incumbent will Manage and lead all X-Part department activities related to the Manufacturing Engineering within FAL-Mobile and the European Plants & Suppliers. Ensures Operational priorities are managed within X-Plant M.E Team to ensure X-Plant department deliverables are achieved according to the FAL & Flightline milestones

Nearby on ‘Airbus Way’ you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your challenges:

  • Manage, lead and develop  XP Manufacturing Engineering department.

  • Be the Plants and supplier’s focal point for escalated key XP M.E topics.

  • Ensure all M.E activities are well coordinated and communicated within the XP MFTs.

  • Actively prepare and contribute to the HABIT routines to ensure good exchange of information and improvements with the plants.

  • Develop, maintain and update X-Plant  Manufacturing Engineering training and development requirements.

  • Manage the Manufacturing Engineering Team’s priorities according to the FAL milestones and provide proactive support.

  • Provide high level technical support  to FAL production in an efficient way. Establish/verify the technical content of non-conformities.

  • Resolve MFT escalations and ensure clear/timely escalation when necessary.

  • Develop KPIs for the team in line with X-Plant and Site objectives.

  • Manage continuous improvement opportunities  and optimize internal organization of the XP M.E.

  • Manage and develop a talented & engaged team.

  • Act as delegate to Head of X-Plant Department

  • Participate actively at the Airbus Operating System initiatives(AOS).

 

Your boarding pass:

  • Required: Demonstrated experience in managing and leading

  • Required: Minimum 6 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience within Airbus, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Required: Manufacturing Engineering experience and strong skill set.

  • Preferred: X-Plant and/or Plant experience

  • Required: Experience in working with internal & external partners, suppliers and plants.

  • High degree of flexibility and initiative.

  • Strong knowledge of the Airbus work-sharing structure, specifically the A320 program.

  • Proven ability to coordinate several projects and tasks simultaneously.

  • Proven ability to influence others and lead teams.

  • Required: A Bachelor&39;s Degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar and/or combination of education and experience.
