Manager - Liaison Engineering (Full Time)

Position Summary
Manages and advises a team responsible for resolving complex problems related to aircraft manufacturing that require a high level of ingenuity and innovation. Ensures verification of accuracy of results through consultation with other authorities in the field and through formal review. Maintains working knowledge of aircraft regulatory requirements and applies this knowledge in guiding the teams and developing repairs. Guides and participates in resolving technical problems while taking into account quality, cost, and schedule. Reviews work in progress to ensure that specifications, design criteria, and schedules are adhered to and maintained.
Essential Job Functions
Provide leadership and supervision over the Liaison Engineering team
Provide guidanceand motivation to all teams and team members with collaborative partnerships
Monitor and report all teams activities and provide regular reports to leadership on team progress, challenges, and potential areas for improvement.
Ensure all team members have the tools and training to successfully complete all necessary work and meet company goals.
Interact one-on-one with all team members to provide guidance, monitor professional development, and discuss any personal improvement that may need to occur.
Function as a working member of the Liaison Engineering team including but not limited to:
o Function as primary first responder focal point for airframe Manufacturing, Quality, and Air Safety on engineering and technical issues related to Type Design.
o Analyze and disposition production airframe nonconformances through standard repair methods.
o Represent engineering in Material Review Board (MRB) process of airframe nonconformance resolution by the disposition of non-standard repairs including the substantiation of the proposed resolution.
o Investigate airframe engineering drawing and specification errors and alert appropriate engineering teams to see that they are resolved.
o Act and produce innovative solutions and exhibit resourcefulness to support integrated product teams to modernize Piper Aircraft using airframe industry practices.
o Support Design and Manufacturing by determination of appropriate methods for fabricating, inspecting, and installing airframe components.
o Act in a mentoring capacity to junior engineers.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position is responsible for direct and indirect supervision and development of staff.Responsible for timely and close communication with staff and organizational leadership, including input on staff performance and corrective action observations. Sponsors and oversees strategic initiative and continuous improvement projects. Provides training and assists other employees, along with providing cross functional project management support.

Education and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
Minimum of 10 years in an engineering position with greater than half that time spent in Liaison/MRB Engineering activities
Must have capable supervision and leadership experience in diverse team environments and physically able to move in and out of the office, plant, manufacturing centers, and aircraft.
- Must be highly self-motivated with an aptitude for problem-solving, exhibiting outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills.
