Internship in the department Aircraft Ground Equipment Development as Systems Engineer (d/f/m)

• Start: September
• Duration: 6 months

The department &34;AGE Development&34; within &34;Weapon System Integration Rigs&34; in the centre of competence &34;A/C Rigs, Benches & Simulation&34; at Airbus Defence and Space in Manching is responsible for development, qualificaiton and certification of Aircraft Ground Equipment (AGE). We deliver everything from concept design, detailed design, development and qualification of test facilities up to in-service and operating. Our main customer aircraft programs are Eurofighter, Tornado, A400M unmanned aircraft (Eurodrone) and FCAS.

Located about an hour’s drive north of Munich, Ingolstadt is a large town that offers a wide range of leisure and cultural activities. You can also enjoy the quality of life in the countryside in the close area.

Your tasks and responsibilities

• You will get to know the different Subsystems of the aircraft and will play a part in developing Aircraft Ground Equipment for these Systems according to the Airbus AGE development process.
• You will write requirements for system specifications, which will lay the baseline for the design phase of the project.
• You will attend manufacturing review meetings with our suppliers.
• Learn about the certification process in the aeronautic industry and assist in the qualification/certification tasks of our projects. This includes writing qualification test procedures and qualification plans as well as assisting in acceptance and qualification tests (after manufacturing, before delivery to customer).
• Further, you will be engaged in supporting the team in various day to day operational and organizational tasks.

Desired skills and qualifications

• Enrolled full-time student in the area of systems engineering/ industrial management/ aerospace engineering or an equivalent field of study
• First practical experience in the field of systems engineering is desirable.
• Fluent in English and basic German
• Basic Knowledge regarding: systems engineering, requirement definition, V-Model, Product Life Cycle, Waterfall Method
• Independence, initiative, ability to work in a team and resilience
