Your role
Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, and working with Program Manager, Technical Project Manager, ICT Security Engineers, Systems Engineers and Operations Engineers; you will support the provisioning and upkeep of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems and solutions for the Australian Defense Force (ADF); and will also provide ICT support including troubleshooting customer (ADF) issues pertaining to the Software Support System, mobile devices and equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Manages and configures network parameters and firewall settings for standalone devices such as laptops and mobile devices.
- Provisioning of mobile devices used for tactical operations.
- Configuration, installation and hardening of Standard Operating Environments (SOE).
- Ability to provide ICT services on-site and remotely, including occasional travel to customer sites.
- Technical troubleshooting including Help Desk Support services – e.g. application/hardware faults, network communication.
- Software support services – installation of software and firmware patches.
- Creates/Updates relevant ICT standard operating procedures where applicable.
- Facilitate training of software support systems for both internal and external customers.
- Reporting and investigating security breaches, concerns, and events as well as, engaging with approved authorities in the event of reportable incidents.
- Model company values, leadership behaviors and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, the Code of Conduct and Ethics and governance requirements.
Skills and qualification
- Knowledge of Windows/Linux/Android operating systems, Virtual Machines, network servers, security hardening/management, firewalls, batch files/scripts for process automation.
- Demonstrated experience in ICT administration.
- Prior experience in Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools.
- Experience in development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven problem-solving skills and experience.
- High level of interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to provide guidance on systems, applications, networks, hardware, to your team, internal stakeholders and customers.
- Degree in engineering, IT, computer science, or other related areas, or Diploma in applicable technical domain
Desirable to have
- Prior experience in DevSecOps will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with ICT Security and relevant Information Security Management (ISM) controls desirable.
