Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for and entry level Equipment Engineer to join our Production Engineering organization in Portland, OR. This Equipment Asset Integration/Systems focused position will support exciting new endeavors in the Fabrication Division.
A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out on the production floor, interacting with mechanics, safety, and equipment services, and directly supporting the production system. Primary Responsibilities:
This is an equipment development, implementation, and improvement role, involving engineering work with CNC Mills, Lathes, Shot Peen Equipment, and other processing equipment.The role is focused around defining technical requirements, integrating new equipment, modifying existing equipment to improve production/safety, and performing reliability analysis to ensure equipment can support production rates:
- Evaluate business unit and project requirements, develop equipment concepts and design solutions for the Production System
- Coordinate with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and procurement agents to manage schedules and budgets for equipment projects
- Generate equipment specifications & corresponding verification/validation test protocols for production equipment
- Address reliability and obsolescence issues by analyzing maintenance & spare parts usage records to optimize performance and reduce costs
- Optimize high precision milling, forming, and other metal processing equipment for safety, ergonomics, quality, flow, reliability, or maintainability
- Ensure compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements
- Validate contractual performance milestones, maintain configuration control, conduct reviews, prepare plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares
- Develop and implements basic work-arounds and maintain configuration of hardware, software and documentation
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Knowledge of various manufacturing techniques
- Experience in automation and robotics
- Ability to learn in a fast paced environment
- Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate across diverse teams

Summary pay range for Entry Level (Level 1): $66,300 - $89,700
