Job Title: Engineering Machinist

MISSION

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Machinist to join our team, specializing in tooling and fixture construction. As an integral part of our manufacturing operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and precision of our tools and fixtures, contributing directly to the efficiency and effectiveness of our production processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Responsible for safe work practices by adhering to all safety protocols; identifies and reports safety concerns.
  • Coordinates with Tool/Fixture Manager, Tooling Engineers and Safety Team to understand timetables for projects and their associated materials TWA’s and PO’s.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Monitors and expedites all parts and components called out on the TWA in support of Tool/Fixture Engineering projects.
  • Manages smaller, less complex design/build projects, driving them to successful completion on-time and within budget.
  • May participate in design review meetings on any number of small or larger projects.
  • May engage in the procurement of parts and components in support of engineering projects.
  • May oversee 3D printing setup and operation.
  • Evaluate and perform modifications and repairs to Wax Injection Tools.
  • Communicates potential problems to supervisor and suggests corrective actions.
  • Ensures that equipment is in good operating condition for oncoming shift personnel; communicates problems, techniques, and deviations from normal procedures to oncoming shift personnel.
  • Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, CNC machines, milling machines, and grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes.
  • Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.
  • Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools. File, grind, shim, and adjust different parts to properly fit them together.
  • Smooth metal surfaces or edges.
  • Assemble machine tools, parts, or fixtures.
  • Measure dimensions of completed products or work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.

REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of prior technical and/or relevant experience preferred.
  • Understanding of G-Code and knowledge of tooling and setup procedures preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Excellent organization, communication skills, and time management skills.
  • Basic understanding of manual milling, CNC milling and lathe set-up and operation.
  • Prior experience building, modifying, and repairing wax tools and dies is preferred.
