Engineer- Aerospace Systems II
Renton, WA / Space Coast, FL / Denver, CO
Contract Position
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the overall health of the vehicle CAD model, maintaining it free from errors and enforcing best modeling practices.
- Manage the vehicle CAD model product structure and ensure it aligns with build plans.
- Responsible for the vehicle engineering bill of materials, including making sure the eBOM builds correctly and matches the CAD data.
- Track and address inaccuracies in the vehicle CAD model, such as missing or duplicate parts
- Audit part and assembly attributes to verify correct assignment and coordinate with teams to fill out attributes when missing or incorrect.
- Reconcile differences between the Master Equipment List and the CAD model and assist with the input of correct mass property assignment in the CAD model.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related subject area
- Successful candidates in this role typically have 5+ years of related experience.
- Strong social skills and experience working in a highly integrated cross-functional team environment.
- Experience with CAD software (Creo Preferred)
- Experience with large assembly management in a CAD environment
- Experience with product lifecycle management tools (Windchill Preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
- Desired (but not required):
- Experience with top-down design principles
- Experience with inventory management systems
- Experience with Configuration Management practices
- Spacecraft integration and test experience
