Job Description:
Northwest Aerospace Technologies (“NAT”), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States. Focusing on commercial and military aircrafts, NAT provides first class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, and manufacturing for a variety of Blue Chip customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Level 3 Electrical Engineer has the following scope of work:
-tSupport the design, development and substantiation of the installation of electrical components and systems into retrofit aircraft applications.
-tCommunicating with the customers and fellow team members. Presenting technical content to a wide audience and provide guidance and input to other team members as well as team members from other disciplines.
-tDevelop proposals to install various electrical components and systems within an aircraft.
-tBreak down a SOW into smaller work packages and allocate work packages to other engineers.
-tFirm understanding of airworthiness requirements regarding the installation of electrical systems, components and wiring within an aircraft.
-tDevelop engineering statement of work in preliminary stages of product/project development.
-tEnsure that NATs drawings and documents meet the standards established by the NAT quality system, customer requirements and the applicable certification authority.
-tGrow in experience by willing to take on tasks in multiple disciplines of the aerospace industry. This would include wire diagrams, wire kits, wire installations and system design.
-tDevelop engineering packages from beginning concept to production utilizing engineering tools and other engineering personnel.
-tDevelop peer review check packages for generated engineering drawings.
-tEnsure the design content conforms to the company quality system procedures as documented, the customer statement of work, along with applicable certification requirements.
-tWork with ODA UMs and EASA CVEs to ensure designs are compliant to airworthiness requirements.
The Electrical Design Engineer 3 will also have the responsibility to perform the following disciplines:
System Design Engineering Discipline:
-tResearch existing aircraft data using OEM and vendor aircraft portals/drawings.
-tReconfigure existing aircraft systems to interface with newly added systems / components.
-tEnsure existing systems continue to function as intended.
-tCreate Wiring Diagrams using AutoCAD
-tCreate System Schematics using AutoCAD
-tDefine electrical aircraft interface locations and connections for interior monuments being installed.
-tEffectively utilize the Boeing standard wiring practices manual (SWPM) or Airbus electrical standard practices manual (ESPM).
-tUse standard electrical principals to ensure newly installed or modified systems.
-tCreate a Wire Kit (cable assembly) with the understanding of parts, material specs and processes required for the creation of kit.

Knowledge/Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent Technical Degree and at least ten (10) years of relevant industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint, and AutoCAD
