Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities:

• Lead development, industrialization, and production support projects for thermal spray coatings (HVOF, HVAF, Plasma)
• Leverage expertise to projects focused on improving quality, performance, and cost for current production coatings
• Develop strategy for applying coatings technology to existing and future business needs
• Provide leadership, technical guidance, and mentoring to less experienced engineers and personnel working assigned projects
• Participate, present, and provide feedback using your experience and expertise in technical and program reviews
• Deliver low-rate production process and technology transfer to full rate production sources for next generation coatings
• Drive rigor for a safety, quality, and Lean mindset within lab environment
• Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance and capability improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions
• Lead and participate on teams assigned to address organizational and lab initiatives
• Develop and implement practices for documentation of projects, lessons learned, and training modules

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree accredited college or university
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering position

Desired Characteristics:

• 10 years of experience in an Engineering position
• Bachelor of Science or graduate degree in Material Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or college 
• Knowledge and experience with aerospace coatings, chemical processes, and/or special process quality systems
• Experience related to manufacturing equipment and/or tooling design and build
