The Research & Technology team in Bangalore has an immediate opening for an Associate Materials & Process Engineer – General to support the Materials & Manufacturing Technology Integration team (MMTI). The team is responsible for developing and implementing advanced manufacturing technologies and processes into the production systems for Boeing. The team works in the following technical areas associated with production processes: composites and composite part fabrication, metals and detail part fabrication, corrosion and finishes, fasteners, and assembly processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Materials, Process & Physics for various Boeing Programs.
  • Perform Boeing Specifications, Parts and Processes refactoring, simplifying the Engineering document.
  • Review of Boeing Drawings, part lists, process specifications, substitution list and determine the Engineering requirements in the area of Materials, Process & Physics
  • Evaluate various Industry specification for materials and suggest alternates to Boeing specification.
  • As required provide technical guidance to Boeing suppliers around structural Assembly & machining / nonmetals / Finishes / Electrical
  • Evaluate and test the emerging technologies in the area of structural Assembly & machining / nonmetals / Finishes / Electrical for potential application to business needs
  • Supporting Boeing Engineering Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Technical bachelors degree with typically 4&43; years related work experience is a basic requirement.
  • A technical degree is defined as any four-year degree, or greater, in a Mechanical, Production, manufacturing, Chemical Engineering and Aerospace field of study.
  • Shop floor experience in Assembly / machining / finishes / Electrical domain, preferably in aerospace Company
  • Self-starter who is not afraid to proactively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work.
  • Strong written, oral, and Business presentation and interpersonal communication skills. Be fluent in written and spoken English, and familiar with MS Office tools.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (early or late as needed) to interface with Boeing personnel around the world.

Typical Education & Experience:

  • Technical bachelors degree is required with typically 5 years related work experience. Masters degree preferred but not a requirement.
