Join our highly skilled team as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and contribute to the safe and efficient daily maintenance on our fleet of aircraft- Boeing 787, 737 NG, 737 MAX and De Havilland Dash 8-400 (Q400). As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic team using your troubleshooting and problem-solving skills while making safety a top priority. Are you ready for your next adventure? Ensure you meet the following requirements:

Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Licence required (-S Require, -M2 additionally preferred)
- Must be willing to aspire to achieve an AME M2 license if not already held
- A minimum of 3 years of structural experience on large transport aircraft or equivalent is required
- A broad range of experience including, completion of minor and major repairs and/or modifications is required
- The physical ability to lift 62lbs and be able to sit, kneel and stand for extended periods of time

Legally entitled to work in Canada (must hold a Canadian Passport or Permanent Residency and/or open work permit with PR card in process)

Must be able to obtain Radio Licence within 6 months of employment

Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions including temperature extremes, confined spaces, working at heights and in a noisy workspace

Ability to maintain a positive fit test to wear all safety and protective equipment including (but not limited) to a respirator apparatus

Flexibility to work shift work (evenings,overnights, weekends and holiday shifts) including overtime when necessary

Must be able to travel for situations where base coverage and/or rescue trips are required

Strong computer knowledge and skills using various Maintenance programs and Microsoft Office Applications

- An ability to meet all conditions of employment:
- Restricted Area Pass issued by Transport Canada
- Ability to obtain an AVOP
- Post offer employment test to test physical ability and fit for position
- A criminal background check
- As per our Alcohol and Drug Policy all offers of employment are conditional on passing a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening test
Responsibilities:
- Exercise privileges of Aircraft Certification Authority in respect to WestJets aircraft
- Support the line maintenance teams during B-Check, IROPS, and AOG situations
- Work collaboratively with experienced teams that will be responsible to maintain/repair the aircraft in a safe and timely manner anywhere in the WestJet network
- Complete accurate completion of required paperwork with respect to the aircraft in accordance with Airworthiness Certification Authority
- Provide instruction and leadership for any mechanic or apprentice working within your maintenance activity
- Ensure the Companys best interest (as defined in the company code of conduct) is maintained
- Other duties as assigned
