Our multi-disciplined process engineering team does hands-on problem solving in a collaborative and fast-paced manufacturing environment. We are subject matter experts for processes and materials in a cleanroom environment which focuses on RF microelectronic packaging and surface mount technology. This is a hands-on role where every day is different with daily team and cross-functional collaboration. This works with cutting-edge automation and materials as well as mature production. We develop and implement materials and processes, process improvements, and provide production support using statistical process control techniques, experimental designs, material analysis, mechanical design analysis, and root cause analysis. Additionally, we evaluate of materials, equipment, and processes (including qualification, acceptance testing, and specification development).

What You Will Do
- Work on-site to support current high-volume, high-mix production with on-site responsiveness to factory equipment, process, materials, and product problems
- Develop and execute new product builds typically with automated equipment, often requiring creative solutions for next-generation product designs
- Ensure processes developed and executed meet product quality requirements
- Process improvement projects to improve factory productivity through leveraging new technologies, investigating and qualifying new materials, and more
- Capital equipment down-selection and integration to meet current and future business needs
- Effective cross-functional communication of technical information
Qualifications You Must Have
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate standing level by the start of Summer 2025.
- Experience with problem solving using data-driven approaches
- Prior experience with technical report writing, presentation creation, and speaking to cross-functional teams or experience levels
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for 6+ hours a day
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Manufacturing experience with surface mount technology (SMT) and microelectronics and automated assembly equipment
- Process development and qualification experience
- Statistical Process Control (SPC), statistical data analysis experience, Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques
- Technical writing experience for operator instructions, process and/or material qualification reports, equipment vendor statement of works, etc.

- Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
