ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLER
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for performing basic and routine electronic and mechanical assembly operation on components, printed circuit boards, and subassemblies along with installing and assisting with testing unmanned ground vehicle systems in various vehicles at Micro Systems or customer facilities. Apply appropriate processes, procedures, safety measures and tools to support ground vehicle system assembly and installation.

$14.00 - $16.00/Hour

7:00 am - 4:00 pm M-F
9/80 Schedule ( off every other Friday)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Work independently or as part of a team performing electronics assembly and electro-mechanical hardware installations to support the company’s Unmanned Vehicle programs.
- Position and align parts in specified relationships to each other and mount assembled components on panels or circuit boards.
- Route electrical cables and wiring, connect and adjust mechanical linkages, mount brackets and electronic enclosures, and all other associated parts and components in a neat and organized manner.
- Cut and drill into sheet metal or plastic of vehicles as required to facilitate installation of hardware while striving to be minimally invasive and avoid collateral damage to the greatest extent possible.
- Work independently or as a team to convert conventional ground vehicles, typically medium to large utility trucks and tractor-trailers from “manned” to “unmanned” operation by installing company’s proprietary electro-mechanical control system hardware using a wide array of hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, specifications, work orders to determine material requirements and assembly instructions.
- Capture and record installation procedures in a comprehensive and cohesive manner such that other personnel may be able to duplicate and repeat the installation process as you’ve documented.
- Support control system integration and testing after the installation process.
- Communicate technical information effectively, both written and verbally, with other Production and Engineering personnel.
- Manage job assignments and provide accurate job status reports to the Production Supervisor and/or the Program Engineer as required.
