Position Overview:

As an Avionics Technician at STS Aviation Services in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, you will work under limited supervision to remove and install avionics and electrical components, fabricate, terminate, and perform continuity checkouts of aircraft electrical wiring. You will also be responsible for the operational and functional checkouts, troubleshooting, and repair of all avionics and electrical systems.

General Duties:
  • Remove and install electrical components, fixtures, and associated equipment.
  • Modify, fabricate, and install complex wiring systems.
  • Read and interpret complex wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, schematics, and engineering blueprints.
  • Complete assigned tasks within allotted time frames.
  • Properly utilize and understand basic hand tools and avionics equipment such as multimeters, crimpers, and strippers to perform wiring duties.
  • Perform operational and functional checkouts of all avionics and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify issues in all avionics and electrical systems.
  • Collaborate with team leads on avionics and wiring-related issues.
  • Conduct training and provide mentorship to less experienced technicians as required.
  • Adhere to safety, compliance, and regulatory policies and procedures.
Skills and Experience:
  • Four (4) or more years of related experience in avionics and electrical systems.

Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of compliance issues.
  • Integrity in all tasks.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team.
  • Strong oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Education:

  • High School diploma/GED required.
  • Four (4) years of experience working on aircraft avionics wiring and electrical systems.
  • Two (2) years of accredited schooling in Aviation Electronics (preferred).
  • FAA A&P License preferred.
