Avionics Electronics Technician

Job Description:

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting and repairing aircraft electrical and avionics systems, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical avionics technical school or equivalent military/vendor training.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair aircraft electrical and avionics systems, including digital and analog systems.

Test Equipment Operation: Operate functional test equipment, such as navigation testers, air data testers, and transponders test equipment.

Installation and Removal: Remove and install LRUs, and perform avionics and electrical preflight inspections.

Wiring and Harness Repair: Remove, replace, and repair electrical wiring and harnesses per applicable engineering and modification notices.

Aircraft Preparation: Assist with setting up aircraft for Elect and Avionic FTPs, launching and recovering aircraft from flight, and troubleshooting pre/post-flight discrepancies.

Compliance: Ensure time compliance equipment is in accordance with applicable regulations.

Final Preparation: Remove temporary and protective equipment from aircraft and install final aircraft product equipment.

Panel Installation: Remove and reinstall aircraft panels in preparation for airworthiness certification inspection.

Discrepancy Repair: Repair post-inspection avionics and electrical system discrepancies as required.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical avionics technical school or equivalent military/vendor training

Minimum 2 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing aircraft electrical and avionics systems

Technical Knowledge:

Basic knowledge of safety and operating procedures for power-on aircraft

Basic knowledge of flight-line ground safety procedures

Ability to read and interpret engineering documents

Working knowledge of ground support equipment

Skills:

Ability to differentiate between malfunctioning test equipment versus malfunctioning aircraft system

Ability to operate functional test equipment

Ability to perform minor troubleshooting and repairing of digital and analog systems

Ability to recognize potential electrical hazards

Ability to achieve sufficient technical qualifications to acquire product verification certification

Additional Requirements

Adhere to General Work Requirements

Complete logs, discrepancies, and/or modification notices

Transport aircraft to designated locations

Assist with troubleshooting and repairing avionics and electrical systems prior to and after functional tests.
