Position Summary

Position Summary:

This entry level tax position supports the domestic tax team with Federal, State, and Local income tax matters. Position responsibility includes collecting and compiling information to be used in the preparation of tax returns, tax audits, income tax accounting and other tax related projects while maintaining efficient work habits and striving for continuous improvement.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:

The position will have direct supervision and assistance in decision making when required. The position will have contact with division personnel, group staff, and other corporate departments.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Prepare Federal tax returns and related schedules using computer applications.
• Prepare state and city tax returns and related schedules using computer applications.
• Prepare Federal and State estimated income tax payments.
• Prepare and assist with the analysis of Federal book and tax differences (“Schedule M” items).
• Support the quarterly and year-end processes related to the computation of income tax expense and deferred taxes under ASC 740 for financial statements.
• Support the continuous improvement of internal processes and tax administration.
• Support domestic tax team in all areas including identified special projects.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• Prior corporate or regional/big 4 accounting experience a plus.
• Self-motivated individual with desire for continuous learning.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and other Windows based software.
• Team player who is also able to work independently as the situation requires.
• Strong analytical abilities and logic skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Organized work habits.
